I used a linen/cotton fabric for the background. The birds are done in lots of colour so they stand out from the leaves and vines. There is no piecing in this quilt its completely appliqued, including the wedge blocks in the border. The use of the yellow/black fabric adds the zing that is needed for the quilt!
